Take a "lightweight" hull, add the largest engine available, toss in a little post WWII exuberance at the dawn of the jet age, and what else would you name the boat? Rocket, of course!

This model shares the same hull with the 17' Sportsman of the same vintage, so it's a beamy boat, and delivers a great ride for a boat of this size.

This particular Rocket has been in the owners' family since 1984.

The boat has been through 2 makeovers, one in 1996 and one in 2011.

The 1996 work was mostly strip and refinish, refastening, and minor carpentry work. Minor mechanical was also performed as well as fuel tank removal and clean. New upholstery

A complete overhaul of the original Chris-Craft model KBL 131 horsepower engine occurred in 2000, which included a complete tear down of the engine, re-machining the block and new pistons.

A major restoration took place from 2007-2009, including:
>All new bottom
>All new decks
>Refastening
>Full refinish of the hull and bilge
>All new wiring and electrical
>Fuel tank removed and cleaned
>New interior
>Correct hardware, windscreen, and hull graphics installed

The Sunbrella cover was fabricated in 2010.

Carburetors were rebuilt in 2013.

Owner estimates that the engine has under 100 hours since its tear-down rebuild. Since the most recent restoration the boat has under 40 hours of run time.

This is a correct boat in terms of details. Hull is extremely solid, bottom is in excellent condition. If you've got the itch for a rocket, this is the one!
