While Century began offering fiberglass hulls to its customers in 1966, with the Fibersport model, 1968 was the last year of production in wood. Discerning boaters could get an 18' Resorter, or an 18' Resorter FGL, like this one. The hull is fiberglass, but the decks were constructed in the same manner as the wood boats: wood frames, bright-finished covering boards, and vinyl decks.
There's no question the next wave of collector interest is in early fiberglass boats. This particular model represents a unique opportunity to live in both collector worlds: a little bit of wood, a classic look, ride and feel, and the convenience of a fiberglass hull.
