A coveted early "one piece covering boards" version of the ever-popular "Barrel Back". Chris-Craft changed their production protocol shortly after production began, as each covering board in one piece required thick and wide lumber to sculpt the covering boards.
This example was restored years ago at Lake Tahoe, shown but used little, then purchased by the president of Chris-Craft to display at headquarters in Sarasota, FL. A compatriot of ours purchased and recommissioned her, and we bought her on behalf of a client of ours who has decided he needs something larger. We went through the boat, added varnish, and prepared it for the water.
Restored correctly with a 6 volt electrics, we recommend converting to 12 volt if one were planning on using it regularly.
Equipped with its original Chris-Craft Model MA six cylinder engine, the original aluminum cylinder head (the "A" in MA) has been replaced with a more robust and common cast iron head, as we recommend. The aluminum alloys were not what they are now!
As shown in the photos, she has one of our Sunbrella waterline mooring covers, which won't fit correctly when the boat is hard against the bow stop of the trailer.
Also included, a very nice tandem axle road trailer.
Priced at $100,000.
